Rotary Barbecue

Rotary isn’t only about cooking sausages,
but we do have a lot of fun doing it and we are grateful to Bunnings, Parafield this year for helping us boost our fundraising!

Our success is due to using quality ingredients, freshly baked bread from a local baker, good quality sausages, freshly sliced onions and served with a smile!

All our Rotarians are Certified to Handle Food by the local Council, and we are always in demand at local events.

Pictured above are Yvonne, Delwyn and Raelene, part of the happy team, and at left, Past District Governor John serves a customer.

Below, the venue and barbecue provided by Bunnings.

So even though they are delicious, WE DO MORE THAN COOK SAUSAGES
Some of the local projects we have contributed to recently
• Northern Area Networking Business Breakfasts (to address the issues surrounding the closure of Holden’s) for small business owners
• St John’s CPR training for up to 1000 local young people
• Bike racks at Elizabeth and Munno Para
• Rotary Youth Leadership Programmes RYLA and RYPEN
• Seating at the Jo Gapper Park Rotary Lookout
• Elizabeth South Primary School:

Bussing students to sing carols at Old Folks Home
Line marking school courts and play areas
Strategic development to establish a school vegetable garden
• SA Variety Bash – Donation to children’s charity
• Men’s Shed – Establishment and ongoing
• Support for people affected by domestic violence
• SciWorld at Playford Civic Centre and nominations to Youth Science Forums
• Mental Health Seminars and workshops
• Fremont Elizabeth High School student supported to Science Experience
• Driver Training Awareness RYDA, for 107 students at St Patricks Technical College
• Grenville Hub Christmas Dinner for isolated citizens
• Back packs for homeless
• Hampers for needy persons

There’s so much more to Rotary than amazing sausages, but let me tell you why our sausage sizzles are important.

  • The money raised goes toward worthwhile causes such as community projects and sponsoring youth programs
  • It gives us a public place to tell people about Rotary and invite them to consider coming along to a meeting or an event.
  • It is a chance for busy Rotarians to contribute to the community by giving a couple of hours of their time when other projects or events may be a little too demanding for them.
  • It’s a chance for Rotarians to chat and get to know each other better, form better friendships, and come up with brilliant new ideas for the club.
